About This Presentation

Description : Palliative Care in Oncology: Enhancing Quality of Life
Palliative care in oncology focuses on improving the quality of life for cancer patients by addressing their physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Unlike curative treatments, palliative care can be provided at any stage of cancer, working alongside curative or life-prolonging therapies. Its goal is to alleviate suffering, support patients and their families, and provide a holistic approach to cancer care.
This presentation, "Palliative Care in Oncology: Enhancing Quality of Life," explores the essential components of palliative care, including symptom management (pain, fatigue, nausea), emotional and psychosocial support, and effective communication strategies. The role of the multidisciplinary team in delivering comprehensive care is emphasized, highlighting the collaboration between oncologists, palliative care specialists, nurses, social workers, and psychologists.
Additionally, the presentation addresses the challenges in accessing palliative care and the benefits of integrating it early in the cancer care journey. Attendees will gain insights into how palliative care not only improves patient comfort but also enhances treatment adherence, reduces hospital stays, and provides crucial support for caregivers.
Join us to explore the critical role of palliative care in oncology and learn how it transforms the patient experience with compassion and dignity.
