This medical PowerPoint presentation is about the clinical and practice issues related to medical abortion.

Medical abortion, also known as medication abortion, is a non-surgical method of terminating a pregnancy using medication. The process typically involves taking two different drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol, which work together to end the pregnancy.

Mifepristone is taken first and works by blocking the hormone progesterone, which is necessary for the pregnancy to continue. Without progesterone, the uterine lining breaks down and the pregnancy can no longer be sustained. Misoprostol is taken 24 to 48 hours later and causes the uterus to contract and expel the pregnancy.

Medical abortion is generally considered safe and effective, with success rates of around 95-98%. It is also preferred by many women because it is non-invasive and can be done in the privacy of their own home.

However, there are some clinical and practice issues that should be considered when providing medical abortion. This presentation talks about these clinical and practice issues.
