Slide 4-

Functions of renal system ★Regulate blood pH; ★Regulate blood volume and blood pressure ; ★Filter blood; ★Control levels of electrolytes and metabolites ; ★Create urine as a waste by product
Slide 5-

Organs of renal system
Slide 6-

Kidneys ★The kidneys are two bean shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. ★ They are located just below the rib cage,one on each side of your spine; ★Healthy kidneys filter about a half cup of blood every minute;

Slide 8-

Functions of kidney ★Removes waste product from the body; ★Remove drugs from the body; ★Balance the body’s fluid; ★Release hormones that regulate blood pressure; ★Produce an active form of vitamin D; ★Control the production of red blood cells.

Slide 10-

Nephron ★A nephron is a structural and functional unit of the kidney; ★It actually produces urine in the process of removing waste and ecess substances from the blood;

Slide 12-

Ureter ★Ureter, duct that transmits urine from the kidney to the bladder; ★There is normally one ureter for each kidney. ★Each ureter is a narrow tube that is about 12 inches(30 cm) long;
Slide 13-

Urinary bladder ★Urinary bladder is a Triangle shaped hollow organ that is located in the abdomen; ★The bladder has two main functions which are the storage and emptying of urine.
Slide 14-

Urethra ★Urethra, tube through which urine leaves the body; ★It empties urine from the bladder; ★This tube allows urine to pass outside the body.
Slide 15-

Urine formation ★Waste is excreted from the human body mainly in the form of urine; ★Urine is formed in three main steps :- 1. Glomerular filtration; 2.Reabsorption; 3.Secretion. ★It comprises 95% water and 5% wastes...
Slide 16-

Urine elimination ★Urine exits the bladder and the body through the urethra.The kidneys,ureters,bladder and urethra make up the urinary tract,the pathway through which urine flows and is eliminated from the body....
Slide 17-

Conclusion ★ The renal system is integral to the cardiovascular system in health and diseases. In the setting of HF,those patients with preserved renal function who don’t develop significant reductions in the setting of AHF enjoy good responses to diuretics and optional outcomes..
