Aim 1. To evaluate the 3-d dose distribution among Ir-192 source and Xoft applicator using PRESAGE dosimeters. 2. Assess dose from Xoft’s Henscke type cervical applicators and the standard Ir-192-based fletcher suit applicators using TLD dosimeters. 3. Focus on dose to cervix and ovules Supervisor : Dr. Ramachandran Prabhakaran Partner institution : Peter MacCallum cancer centre

Electronic Brachytherapy eBx - Brachytherapy with Miniature Electronic X-ray Sources conceived in the 1980s by Alan Sliski of PhotoElectron Corp. in collaboration with MIT Cobalt 60 vs Linac
Slide 3-

Radionuclide vs Electronic eBx More than 500 HDR accidents (including one death) have been reported along the entire chain of procedures from source packing to delivery of dose.

Methodology 1. Design phantoms to accommodate Fletcher suite and Electronic brachytherapy cervical applicators 2. Measurement of dose along the radial and applicator long axis using EBT3 films and TLDs for Ir-192 and eBx brachytherapy applicators. 3. Comparison of measured and estimated dose along the radial axis for both Ir-192 and eBx 4. Reconstruction of 3D dose distribution using Presage dosimeter 5. Measurement of surface dose at the applicators
