Humans are sexually reproducing viviparous organisms. Human reproduction includes :- Formation of male and female gamets The male gamete is known as sperm and female gamete is known as an ovum Transfer of male gamete into the female genital tract. The fusion of male and female gamete is known as Fertilization and resulys in the formation of zygote. Formation and development of Blastocyst that further attach to the uterine wall and this process is known as implantation The embryo gets developed that helps in delivering a baby

The male reproductive System It consists of : The primary sex organ : Pair of testes. The secondary sex organs : the duct system and the associated glands External genitalia : Penis.

Male Reproductive system parts TESTES Scrotum : A pouch in which testes are situated, The temperature in the scrotum is 2 to 2.5 C below the temperature of abdominal cavity because maturation of sperms require low temperature. Testicular Lobules :- Contains 1-3 Highly coiled seminiferous tubules. Seminiferous tubules :- Contain spermatogonia (male germ cel)l and Sertoli cells The Regions outside the seminiferous tubules called interstitial spaces contain :- Small blood vessels Leydig cells (interstitial cells)

Accessory ducts :- Includes rete testes, vasa efferentia, epididymis, and vas deferens. Accessory glands :- Includes a pair of seminal vesicle, prostate glands and bulbourethral gland. Secretion of these glands constitutes the seminal plasma rich in fructose, calcium, and certain enzymes. Secretion of bulbourethral gland also helps in lubrication of penis. External genitalia :- The penis is the external genitalia in human males It is made up of special tissue that helps in erection of the penis to facilitate insemination. The enlarged tip of the penis is called glans penis covered by loose fold skin called foreskin.

The Female Reproductive system It consists of : Primary sex organs : Pair of ovaries Secondary sex organs : - The duct system consisting a pair of falloplain tube, a uterus, cervix and vagina. External genitalia. Mammary glands. Ovaries Produce female gamates called ova 2-4 cm in length Covered by a thin epithelium, enclosing the ovarian stroma Stroma is divided into 2 regions :- 1. peripheral cortex. 2. Inner Medulla.

Falloplain tube :- Part closer to ovary is funnel shaped :- INFUNDIBULUM Infundibulum posseses finger like projection : Fimbriae Wider part of oviduct :- Ampulla Narrow part of oviduct :- Isthumus Uterus :- Covered by 3 layered wall : Perimetrium, myometrium, and endometrium. External genitalia :- Mons Pubis : - cushion of fatty tissue covered by skin and pubic hair. Labia majora :- Fleshy folds of tissue extending down from mons pubis, surrounding the vaginal opening Labia minora :- Paired folds of tissue within labia majora Clitoris :- Tiny finger like structure which lies at the upper junction of the two labia minora, above the urethral opening. Hymen :- A membrane covering the opening of vagina partially.

Mammary gland Consists of glandular tissue and variable amount of fat Glandular tissue divided into 15-20 mammary lobes Each lobe contains clusters of cells called alveoli opens into mammary tubules Mammary tubules join to from mammary duct Mammary duct joins to form mammary ampulla connected to lactiferous duct. Milk secreted by cells of alveoli is stored in the lumen of alveoli.
