Why first aid skills are important to be learnt? In 2017 Fire and Safety Centre reported that over 600,000 people became injured at work in just a year, First Aid exists to help save lives and inform people of what to do in an emergency. This proves there are many opportunities for First Aiders to help out fellow employees, until the emergency services take over (if needed) .

American Heart Association mentioned that CPR helps maintain vital blood flow to the heart and brain and increases the amount of time that an electric shock from a defibrillator can be effective.
