Slide 2-

A 71-year-old female presented to AHI Ormond Beach, with c/o coughing x 1 week. Received an order for a 2 view Chest X-ray. No removable artifacts evident on image. Marker was placed on IR prior to exposure. Patient info was removed from image. The part, tube, & bucky are positioned correctly. The CR for the PA Chest is the level of T7. The patient was slightly off centered and could have been moved slightly to the left. Collimation could be a little tighter. The kVp, mAs used for the PA image of the Chest is: 120 kVp @ 6.3 mAs with use of a grid. The appropriate exposure factors are evident on the image. There is a destructive pathology of COPD. This could lower the technical factors. The shoulders could have been more forward to move the scapula from the lung field. Collimation could have been a little more from top to bottom. Adequate contrast & resolution is evident. Shielding was not used per facility protocols, Tech & Student behind Lead wall. 9. 1. Rt Clavicle 2. Rt Lung 3. Lt Clavicle 4. Heart 5. The kVp, mAs used for the Lateral image of the Chest is: 120 kVp @ 10 mAs with use of a grid. The appropriate exposure factors are evident on the image. There is a destructive pathology of COPD. This could lower the technical factors. The patient should have been lateral with no rotation of the body. Collimation could have been a little more from top to bottom. Adequate contrast & resolution is evident. Shielding was not used per facility protocols, Tech & Student behind Lead wall. 9. 1. Humerus 2. Aortic Arch 3. Apex of Lung 4. Sternum 5.
