About This Presentation

Description : Check out this medical PowerPoint presentation titled "Cardiorespiratory Fitness”

This medical PowerPoint presentation talks about cardiorespiratory fitness which refers to the ability of the heart, lungs, and circulatory system to deliver oxygen-rich blood to the muscles during physical activity, and the ability of the muscles to use that oxygen to produce energy. It is also commonly referred to as aerobic fitness or cardiorespiratory endurance.

Cardiorespiratory fitness is an important indicator of overall health and fitness. People with higher levels of cardiorespiratory fitness are at a lower risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. They also tend to have better overall health and quality of life.

Cardiorespiratory fitness can be improved through regular aerobic exercise such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, or any other activity that elevates the heart rate and causes the individual to breathe harder. The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise per week, to improve cardiorespiratory fitness.

WHAT ARE SOME BASIC FACTS ABOUT THE HEART?
Slide 19-

IT IS A MUSCLE PUMPS BLOOD AND O2 BEATS ABOUT 70 TIMES PER MINUTE A FIT PERSON’S HEART BEATS FEWER TIMES PER MINUTE

FITT PRINCIPLE to Improve the Cardiorespiratory System F = MINIMUM OF 3 TIMES A WEEK I = WITHIN YOUR TARGET HEART RATE ZONE (Level 3 and 4 Workouts with Perceived Exertion Rate) T = MINIMUM 20 MINUTES T = AEROBIC EXERCISE
Slide 24-

OVERLOAD Increasing the intensity of your workout or activity in order to elevate the heart rate to the target heart zone. The more in shape you become…the harder you need to continue to push yourself in order to improve your fitness levels.
