Aphasia is a disability that occurs due to damage to certain brain parts that are responsible for communication and language processing. DISABILITY The damage of the brain that leads to aphasia usually causes loss of blood supply of damage of tissue due to cells death, and it can be caused by several factors such as severe head injury, infection, tumors or even degenerative condition

IMPAIRMENTS

As it is known, aphasia is an acquired disorder mainly from stroke or brain trauma. The impairments that produce aphasia are as follows:- Damage to the left frontal lobe(Broca’s area)where this part of the brains handles articulation and speech motor control. Damage to the Wernicke's area affects the speech comprehension. A degeneration in the frontal temporal and parietal regions of the brain that controls language causing a type of aphasia called Primary Progressive Aphasia(PPA).

Requirements: Disabled people reached an agreement on the following requirements that they are considered as necessary in a way or another in a disabled person’s life. These requirements are: 1. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is a framework for describing and organizing information on functioning and disability. It provides a standard language and a conceptual basis for the definition and measurement of health and disability. HAAT Model is an extension of HPM where it has four components - the human, the activity, the assistive technology, and the context in which these three integrated factors exist.
