About This Presentation

Description : Check out this medical titled "Antiviral Drugs” by S.Bohlooli, PhD.

This medical is about antiviral drugs, medications used to treat viral infections by specifically targeting the virus and inhibiting its ability to replicate or infect host cells. These drugs work by interfering with different stages of the viral life cycle, such as viral entry, viral replication, assembly, and release.

There are several types of antiviral drugs available, including Nucleoside/nucleotide analogs, Protease inhibitors, Entry inhibitors, Polymerase inhibitors, and Immunomodulators.

Tags : Antiviral Drugs, viral infections, virus, influenza, herpes simplex virus, hepatitis B and C, HIV, COVID-19, Neuraminidase inhibitors, Nucleoside analogues, Protease inhibitors, Polymerase inhibitors, Infectious Disease, Infectious Disease

Replicative cycle of HIV-1, an example of a retrovirus, showing the sites of action of antiviral agents. Various antiviral agents are shown in blue. Key: RT, reverse transcriptase; cDNA, complementary DNA; mRNA, messenger RNA; Tat, a protein that regulates viral transcription and affects the rate of replication; RNaseH, ribonuclease H; gp120, envelope glycoprotein.
