Vascular and Interventional Radiology High Blood Pressure And Its Treatment
Slide 2-

High Blood Pressure High blood pressure is also known as hypertension. Blood pressure is the amount of force exerted against the walls of the arteries as blood flows through them
Slide 3-

Measure of Blood Pressure Systolic Pressure - the blood pressure when the heart contracts, specifically the moment of maximum force during the contraction. This happens when the left ventricle of the heart contracts. Diastolic Pressure - the blood pressure between heartbeats, when the heart is resting and dilating (opening up, expanding).

High Blood Pressure TREATMENT About 96% of the high blood pressure patients can be cured by medicines. However, some patients have narrowed arteries to the kidneys. These narrowing may be discovered on ultrasound, CT, or MRI scan.

Thanks For Visiting For those patients angioplasty with stent placement may greatly improve or cure the high blood pressure and reduce the need for medicines. Renal Artery Angioplasty The renal artery angioplasty procedure is non-surgical and is outpatient or “short stay.” Interventional radiologists are experienced in the performance of renal (kidney) artery angioplasty and stenting and are the only physicians who are board-certified to perform this high blood pressure treatment procedure.
