About This Presentation

Description : Check out this medical PowerPoint presentation titled "Radiotherapy research in gynaecological cancers” by Dr Susan Lalondrelle.

This medical PowerPoint presentation is about radiotherapy which plays an important role in the treatment of gynecological cancers, which include cervical, endometrial, ovarian, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. Over the years, there has been a significant amount of research dedicated to improving radiotherapy outcomes in gynecological cancers

3. Better visualisation and reduced field size: MRlinac Visualisation Easier to see and define target (and tumour) and non-target tissues 2. Online replanning daily plan adaptation for target and non-target motion (and regression) 3. Intrafraction motion monitoring Improved accuracy may increase local control & reduce toxicity Guides dose escalation which may further increase local control

4. Predicting and stratifying response Circulating HPVDNA NGS assay for detection of cHPV DNA in locally advanced cervix cancer treated with radiotherapy Blood samples at baseline, end of EBRT and 3 months correlated with imaging Pilot completed Tool for escalating dose or adding/ removing treatment RT Gene2 The aim of this research is to understand how certain genes in the body are affected by a range of doses and exposures to radiation. Multi-panel coding and non-coding transcriptional responses as an indicator of individualised responses to radiation effects in radiation therapy patients

Summary – gynaecological radiotherapy Trials to implement new technologies such as ultrasound, MRlinac, stereotactic radiotherapy are delivering Improved visualisation and accuracy Online adaptive planning Enhanced monitoring of radiotherapy delivery Novel assays are being evaluated to predict Response to treatment to individualise dose Likelihood of toxicity
